The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced plans to operate three train trips along the Lagos–Ibadan corridor on Monday, March 23, 2026, to manage increased passenger traffic following the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

Chief Public Relations Officer of NRC, Callistus Unyimadu in a statement, said the decision was taken in response to the high turnout of travellers recorded during the Sallah period.

Unyimadu stated that the additional trips are designed to ease movement for commuters returning to their destinations and to provide more flexible travel options.

According to him, departures from the Lagos end at Mobolaji Johnson Station, Ebute Metta, will take place at 7:45 a.m., 1:40 p.m., and 4:00 p.m., while trains from the Ibadan end at Obafemi Awolowo Station, Moniya, will depart at 8:00 a.m., 10:50 a.m., and 4:30 p.m.

He added that the corporation remains committed to delivering safe, reliable and efficient rail transport services across its network.

Unyimadu further advised passengers to arrive early at the stations, adhere strictly to ticketing and security procedures, and plan their journeys ahead to avoid last-minute inconveniences.

He also appreciated passengers for their continued patronage and wished them safe and pleasant journeys.
