“Why I picked up a broom for God!” – Tonto Dikeh opens up

Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has opened up about a personal spiritual encounter, revealing that she was instructed by God to clean His house as part of a divine assignment.

The actress made this known in a post shared on her Instagram page, where she recounted her initial reaction to the unusual instruction and how it eventually led to a transformation in her life.

According to Dikeh, she initially questioned the directive, noting that she has domestic staff responsible for cleaning and also struggles with obsessive cleanliness tendencies.

“This is the first assignment God gave me: to clean His house. I smiled in obedience, never questioning His instruction, but in my heart, I wondered, ‘Why cleaning, Lord?’” she wrote.

She explained that she even asked if the task could be delegated to others, but said she was instructed to carry it out herself as it was meant to bring about spiritual growth.

“He answered gently but powerfully: ‘No child, do it yourself. It is an assignment to launch you into my glory so that I can cleanse your life from the inside out,’” she added.

Dikeh said she eventually embraced the task wholeheartedly, describing how what seemed like a simple chore turned into a deeper spiritual experience.

She noted that since carrying out the instruction, her life has been marked by restoration, open doors, and unexpected help.

“What seemed like a simple physical task became a spiritual transformation. Through obedience, God began a deeper work within me,” she said.

The actress further stated that she now seeks a closer relationship with God beyond material blessings, emphasizing her desire for spiritual growth and intimacy.
