The President knows this is hard on Nigerians and has already started taking action, especially to make transport cheaper,” the governor said.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has admitted that the rising cost of fuel is putting a lot of pressure on Nigerians and has started taking steps to reduce the impact.

This information was shared in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Jigawa State Governor, Hamisu Muhammad Gumel.

The Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi, spoke during the Eid-el-Fitr celebration in Dutse. He said the President is worried about how fuel price increases are affecting people, especially in transportation and daily living costs.

According to him, the recent fuel price hike is partly due to events happening in the Middle East, which have made things more expensive.

He explained that the Federal Government is already working on ways to reduce the burden. One of the main plans is to lower transportation costs, which have gone up because of higher fuel prices.

“The President knows this is hard on Nigerians and has already started taking action, especially to make transport cheaper,” the governor said.

He also said the Jigawa State Government will support the Federal Government by introducing its own policies and programs to help residents cope with the situation.

Namadi added that although things are difficult now, the steps being taken by both the federal and state governments should help improve living conditions soon.

This comes after many Nigerians complained about the rising cost of fuel and how it has increased prices of transport, food, and other essential services.
