The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed 10 deaths and 20 injuries in a road crash along the Tafa–Gujeni route in Niger State.

FRSC Corps Marshal, Malam Shehu Mohammed, disclosed in a statement that the crash occurred around 8:20 a.m. at Malam Tanko and involved a DAF tanker conveying 33 male occupants.

He said three persons were rescued unhurt, while preliminary findings linked the crash to excessive speed and loss of control.

Mohammed added that the vehicle was engaged in illegal mixed loading, carrying both goods and passengers.

He stated that FRSC operatives rescued victims and cleared the road, with the injured taken to Umar Musa General Hospital, Sabon Wuse, while the deceased were deposited at a mortuary.

Describing the crash as avoidable, he warned against speeding and unsafe transport practices, urging motorists to comply with road safety regulations.
