The Omoluabi Movement, a notable political pressure group in Ogun State, has officially rebranded as the Yayi Progressives Movement (YPM) as part of its strategic preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The Omoluabi Movement, a notable political pressure group in Ogun State, has officially rebranded as the Yayi Progressives Movement (YPM) as part of its strategic preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The development was disclosed in a press statement signed by the Convener of the group, Armstrong Tope Akintunde.

The statement was made available to journalists in Abeokuta on Tuesday through the State Media Director of the movement, Oluseun Joshua.

According to the statement, the decision to adopt a new identity reflects what the leadership described as a natural evolution in the movement’s political ideology and operational focus.

Akintunde explained that the rebranding signals the commencement of a new phase for the group, following what he characterised as the successful execution of its earlier political objectives within the state’s political landscape.

He noted that the newly repositioned Yayi Progressives Movement would concentrate on strengthening grassroots mobilisation and consolidating support for candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Ogun State in the build-up to the 2027 polls.

The convener further stated that members of the movement have resolved to actively campaign for the party’s candidates at all levels of the elections, including the presidential contest, National Assembly seats, and State House of Assembly races.

Akintunde added that the group would place particular emphasis on rallying support for the governorship aspiration of Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, describing him as a key figure in the movement’s renewed political direction.

He expressed confidence that the rebranding would energise supporters, expand the movement’s influence across the state, and contribute to the APC’s electoral success in Ogun State during the forthcoming general elections.
