Troops have arrested a suspected top terrorist ammunition courier during an intelligence-led operation in Kogi State.
Security sources said the arrest was made at about 6:30 p.m. on March 21 at Ahokon in Koton Karfe, following credible intelligence on the movement of the suspect, who had been on the watchlist of security agencies, including the Department of State Services (DSS).
According to the sources, troops of 12 Brigade swiftly responded to the information and intercepted the suspect.
Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, reported that the suspect was shot in the thigh while attempting to escape arrest.
The suspect was immediately stabilised and is currently in military custody for further investigation and necessary action.
