Racheal Okonkwo shuts down Zubby Michael over success remark

Nollywood actress, Racheal Okonkwo, has responded strongly to remarks made by fellow actor Zubby Michael suggesting that her success and wealth may be intimidating potential suitors.

Zubby Michael had earlier joked during a conversation that the actress might have scared off many men due to her financial achievements and ownership of landed properties, adding humorously that she would attend Shiloh tirelessly.

Reacting to the comment, Okonkwo did not hold back as she reflected on her humble beginnings before rising to fame.

Using a relatable analogy, the actress recalled her past struggles, including roasting corn in Nsukka and dancing to make ends meet, questioning why men did not approach her during those difficult times.

“I’m not looking for a poverty-alleviation relationship. If men fear successful women, why didn’t they marry me when I was roasting corn in Nsukka?” she said.

Okonkwo emphasized that her success is a product of hard work and dedication, noting that she expects respect rather than intimidation from any potential partner.

She added that anyone worthy of being in her life should appreciate her journey instead of feeling threatened by her achievements.
