Tragedy struck Ridawa village in Kano State on Wednesday after a pit collapsed, reportedly trapping several brick workers underground.

The incident occurred in the early hours of the day in Ghari Local Government Area, where the victims were said to be digging earth for brick-making when the pit suddenly caved in.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that a number of workers were inside the pit at the time of the collapse, leaving many buried beneath the rubble. Fears are mounting that several of the trapped individuals may have lost their lives, while others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
