‘You are lying’– VeryDarkMan blasts Blessing CEO over cancer claim

Popular Nigerian social media commentator VeryDarkMan (VDM) has publicly challenged self-acclaimed relationship expert Blessing CEO over her recent claim of being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.

In a video addressing the controversy, VDM explained why he doubts her story.

He said Blessing CEO has yet to provide “any concrete evidence to support her claim”, pointing out that coming online with a tearful video without medical documentation or proof of treatment raises serious questions.

He emphasised that cancer is a severe and incurable disease, one that “should not be used for emotional appeal” or personal attention, warning that such claims could mislead the public and trivialise a life-threatening illness.

Blessing CEO went viral on Wednesday after sharing a tearful video on Instagram, showing her hair loss and describing the impact of the illness. While the post drew sympathy from followers, it also intensified scrutiny from critics, including VDM, who have called for verification.

VDM also referenced Blessing CEO’s past controversies, including a 2019 incident where she falsely claimed ownership of a house, which led to her arrest by the actual owner, Onye Eze. She later issued a formal apology.
