Her music was known for its deep spiritual resonance and ability to lead congregations into intense moments of worship.
The family’s statement described her as a “devoted Christian” whose impact went beyond the microphone:

Onos was born on November 20, 1970, into a devout Christian home. She was the daughter of Apostle Ambrose Oproze Brisibi and Deaconess Mary Koko Brisibi, hailing from Aladja in the Udu Local Government Area of Delta State. Her musical journey began long before the world knew her name. By the age of nine, Onos had already begun singing.
While studying at Delta State University, Onos became a campus sensation. She wasn’t just a gospel singer back then; she was widely admired for her ability to cover global icons like Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, and Aretha Franklin.
Before the “New Nollywood” era, Onos Brisibi was one of the most sought-after voices for movie soundtracks. She helped shape the emotional landscape of Nigerian cinema, contributing to legendary home videos such as:
-
Domitilla
-
Blood Money
-
Mortal Inheritance
-
Deadly Passion
-
Shame
Her love for the screen wasn’t limited to audio. Onos successfully ventured into acting and movie production.
In the secular and gospel music circuits, Onos was a respected peer. She collaborated and worked on projects with iconic Nigerian musicians, including the masked maestro Lagbaja, Daniel Wilson, and the late gospel general Sammie Okposo.
Despite her success in various industries, her heart remained in the sanctuary. As a dedicated member of Christ Embassy (LoveWorld Ministries), she served as a high-ranking worship leader for decades, mentoring younger singers and leading millions in worship across the globe.a
