“And I have been openly queer before AND after I went for that show, please never attribute my greatness to a man, he could never have made me this cool, thangyaaaaa.”

Reality TV star Angel Smith has publicly reaffirmed her identity after reports emerged of her wedding to her partner, Tumininu, in the United States.

The former Big Brother Naija finalist took to X to address public commentary surrounding her personal life, writing:

“And I have been openly queer before AND after I went for that show, please never attribute my greatness to a man, he could never have made me this cool, thangyaaaaa.”

Her remarks come amid circulating videos and photos of an intimate white wedding ceremony reportedly held in the U.S., attended by close friends and family. The event, described as minimalist yet stylish, featured a distinct “all black” theme for guests.

In the footage shared via her Snapchat, Tumininu appeared in a tailored black suit paired with a white shirt, black bow tie, and a floral lapel brooch. Angel, on the other hand, wore a simple but elegant white strapless mini dress complemented by a veil and heels.

The couple had made their relationship public in 2025, sharing affectionate moments online, and are said to have previously conducted a civil ceremony earlier this year.

Angel’s statement has since ignited conversations across Nigerian social media, with opinions sharply divided over her sexuality, her public declaration, and the broader implications for celebrity influence.

Prior to this development, Angel was romantically linked to fellow reality TV star Soma Anyama. Their relationship, which began during the BBNaija All Stars edition in 2023, ended in early 2024. At the time, Angel publicly criticized the intense scrutiny surrounding their breakup.

Since rising to prominence on the 2021 BBNaija Shine Ya Eye season—where she emerged as a finalist—Angel has built a reputation as a bold voice in Nigeria’s entertainment space, combining her reality TV fame with writing and influencing.
