“Today, as I clock another year in the journey of life, I’m filled with joy and gratitude for the opportunity given me to serve this great nation,” he said.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed appreciation to Nigerians for the outpouring of goodwill messages as he marked his 74th birthday.

In a personally signed message, Tinubu thanked citizens for their prayers, patriotism and continued support for his administration.

“Today, as I clock another year in the journey of life, I’m filled with joy and gratitude for the opportunity given me to serve this great nation,” he said.

“I want to take this moment to thank Nigerians for their messages, show of love and prayers on the occasion of my 74th birthday.”

The President also acknowledged individuals and groups who took out space in newspapers and broadcast platforms to celebrate him.

“To those who have taken space in newspapers or paid for air time on radio and television to wish me well, I thank you immensely,” he said.

He gave special appreciation to his wife, Oluremi Tinubu, and Vice President Kashim Shettima for their kind remarks.

Tinubu noted that he deliberately chose to mark the occasion quietly, in line with the current mood of the nation.

“As I mark this special day, I am reminded of the challenges we’ve faced since we initiated our reforms,” he said.

“I’m glad that our sacrifices have not been in vain as we can see some glittering light at the end of the tunnel.”

He added that the progress recorded so far was a collective effort.

“The credit for the positive outcomes we have achieved does not belong solely to me… we achieved the gains together,” he stated.

The President expressed optimism ahead of his administration’s third anniversary, assuring Nigerians of his commitment to tackling the nation’s challenges.

“We are determined to confront some of the challenges we face today, and with your continued support, we shall overcome,” he said.

Tinubu urged Nigerians to remain united in building a stronger and more prosperous country.

“Let us continue to work together to build a stronger, prosperous and more resilient nation that will make Nigeria the pride of Africa.”
