Former middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has said he will not give up, even after losing four fights in a row.
Adesanya lost by technical knockout (TKO) in the second round to American fighter Joe Pyfer at a UFC event in Seattle, USA, on Saturday night. Pyfer stopped him with repeated punches on the ground.
The 36-year-old started the fight well, using his skill and movement to control the first round. But Pyfer fought back strongly, landing heavy punches and taking Adesanya down.
In the second round, Pyfer pushed Adesanya against the cage, took him to the ground, got into a dominant position, and hit him with several punches. The referee, Herb Dean, stopped the fight to protect Adesanya.
After the fight, Adesanya spoke to the crowd in an emotional interview. He said he would keep fighting no matter what.
“I will keep going again and again. I’m not leaving. You can’t stop me. I might get beaten, but I will always stay undefeated,” he said.
This latest loss adds to his recent defeats against Sean Strickland, Dricus du Plessis, and Nassourdine Imavov.
The losing streak has raised questions about what is next for Adesanya in his fighting career.
