Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, has shed light on her increasingly visible prayer life on social media, explaining the spiritual foundation behind her public expressions of faith.

The actress, who has recently taken to hosting morning devotion sessions online, spoke during a sermon on the importance of building a strong private relationship with God before making one’s faith visible.

According to her, what many people now see is the result of a deeply cultivated spiritual discipline developed away from public view.

“Before you see what you see here today, I have marinated, immersed myself with my God. This is not a joke. This is preparation. This is purpose, grace, assignment,” she said.

Dikeh emphasised that public prayer should not replace personal devotion, but rather reflect it.

“You need to build a private life with God, where nobody is watching — away from the internet, away from your friends. Let it be that when you come to the internet to pray or talk about God, you have already done it in your privacy,” she stated.

Her remarks come at a time when her online prayer sessions and devotional posts have drawn attention, with many noting her consistent presence in faith-based discussions on social media.

The actress also shared a personal testimony about her early days in Christianity, revealing how her prayer life transformed shortly after her conversion.

“A month after I gave my life to Christ, I realised there was nothing I prayed for that I did not get… He taught me intimacy with Him,” she said.

She further stressed that consistency and genuine devotion are key to spiritual growth, warning against superficial expressions of faith.

“God is not looking for people who love Him in the front yard and desert Him at the back. The moment God sees your consistency and your love for Him, He will avail you with all that you have,” she added
