“Fake news everywhere 🤣. These opposition elements are so pained by my appointment and they are doing everything to discredit me and scuttle it,” he wrote.

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has dismissed reports claiming that Germany rejected his nomination as Nigeria’s ambassador, describing the development as “fake news.”

His reaction follows a report alleging that the German government declined his posting over concerns about his past statements and conduct.

Taking to his X handle, Fani-Kayode mocked the report and accused political opponents of attempting to undermine his appointment.

“Fake news everywhere 🤣. These opposition elements are so pained by my appointment and they are doing everything to discredit me and scuttle it,” he wrote.

He further insisted that he remains committed to serving the country, regardless of criticism surrounding his nomination.

“Whether they like it or not I will serve my country! Keep crying! 🤣” he added.

The report had claimed that Germany rejected his appointment citing alleged “erratic behaviour” and past controversial remarks, though there has been no official confirmation from German authorities.

Fani-Kayode, a prominent political figure known for his outspoken views, has frequently been at the centre of public debates over his comments and political positions.
