Nigerian singer Skales has strongly criticised socialite Cubana Chief Priest over a controversial statement linking the recent killings in Jos to an alleged attempt to embarrass President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his birthday.
The backlash followed a post shared by Cubana Chief Priest on Instagram, where he expressed condolences to victims of the Jos violence but suggested that the attack may have been politically motivated to tarnish the President’s image.
He also called on security agencies to intensify efforts in tackling insecurity across the country.
However, his remarks quickly sparked outrage on social media, with many Nigerians faulting the perceived insensitivity of his claims.
Reacting publicly, Skales did not hold back, describing the socialite’s comments as “delusional.” The singer questioned the rationale behind focusing on political embarrassment rather than the loss of human lives.
“This guy is delusional… I can’t believe he said that,” Skales wrote. “Lives were lost and all you care about is the presidency being embarrassed. Where is your conscience?”
He further criticised Cubana Chief Priest for what he described as a lack of empathy, especially given the gravity of the situation and the human cost of the violence.
