The Zonal Commanding Officer, Kaduna Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), ACM Abdullahi Sunusi, has advised newly promoted senior officers of the corps to see their elevation as a call to greater responsibility.
Sunusi gave the advice on Wednesday in Kaduna during the decoration ceremony of seven newly promoted senior officers. The Zonal commanding officer described promotion as a privilege from God and an elevation that comes with higher expectations.
“Promotion is a privilege from God—it is an elevation to a higher rank, and it always comes with greater responsibility and high expectations. My advice to the newly promoted officers is, first and foremost, to thank Almighty God for granting them this opportunity. They should also appreciate the organisation, particularly the FRSC leadership, for finding them worthy of this advancement,” he said.
He urged the officers to demonstrate greater dedication, commitment and exemplary leadership in the discharge of their duties.
According to him, the officers must be prepared to put in more efforts and uphold the mandate of the corps by ensuring safety on Nigerian roads.
“Wherever they are posted, they should strive to work diligently and improve upon the standards they meet on the ground,” he advised.
Also speaking, the Sector Commander, Kaduna State Command, Corps Commander Tijjani Iliyasu, charged the officers to remain disciplined and dedicated, noting that promotion comes from God alone.
Responding on behalf of the newly promoted officers, Corps Commander Philip Malgwi expressed appreciation to the zonal commanding officer for his leadership and support.
Malgwi recalled that during the zonal commander’s recent visit, officers had pledged to give their best to improve the command’s performance.
“The positive developments we are witnessing today are a clear testimony to that commitment. It is my prayer that we will sustain and build upon this progress,” he said.
He described the occasion as a great honour and encouraged officers to remain hopeful and committed to career growth within the Corps.
“At a time, it seemed almost impossible to rise to the highest ranks, but today we have come to realise that the sky is not our limit, rather, heaven is our limit in the FRSC,” he said.
Malgwi appreciated the Corps Marshal and the FRSC management for finding them worthy of the promotion.
