A South London man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after being found guilty of multiple sexual offences against a child, following what police described as a detailed and evidence-led investigation.

Kamran Khan, 44, of Streatham High Road, Lambeth, was sentenced on Wednesday at Inner London Crown Court after his conviction on January 15 for 10 offences against a girl under 13.

The offences included rape and sexual assault by touching, all relating to a single victim.

According to the Metropolitan Police Service, Khan exploited a family’s trust to gain access to the child and threatened her with harm if she disclosed the abuse.

The case came to light after a family member reported concerns to police in July 2025, prompting an investigation by the Met’s Child Abuse Investigation Team.

Detectives said the victim later disclosed that she had been subjected to abuse in multiple locations, including her home and a public park, despite threats allegedly made by the offender.

Police said forensic evidence and digital analysis played a critical role in securing the conviction. Officers recovered Khan’s mobile phone, where investigators found material that supported the victim’s account. DNA evidence also confirmed sexual contact.

Detective Constable Franky Green commended the victim’s courage in coming forward.

“I commend the courage of the victim and her family who came forward to bring light to Khan’s terrible offences. Khan preyed on a defenceless child and used established relationships as a cover for his crimes,” Green said.

Following his sentencing, Khan has been placed on the sex offenders register and handed a restraining order alongside a sexual harm prevention order.

The Metropolitan Police said it remains committed to tackling child abuse through enhanced digital forensics, surveillance and investigative capabilities, noting that recent efforts have led to a significant increase in solved cases and charges.

Authorities urged victims and families to report abuse, assuring continued support and protection throughout investigations.
