Oracle’s senior leadership reportedly began notifying affected staff via email around 6 AM on March 31, communicating the company's decision.

Oracle is laying off thousands of employees, and this time the impact is being strongly felt in India, with around 12,000 employees reportedly affected.

The job cuts form part of a wider global workforce reduction, which could impact over 30,000 employees worldwide.

Oracle’s senior leadership reportedly began notifying affected staff via email around 6 AM on March 31, communicating the company’s decision.

Many impacted employees have taken to platforms like Reddit and Blind, sharing news of their dismissal.

According to these employees, Oracle has communicated the layoffs directly via email, informing them that their roles have been eliminated with immediate effect.

Oracle is reportedly assisting those affected by guiding them through the exit procedure, which includes information on severance packages to be issued once the necessary documentation is finalised.

To facilitate ongoing contact regarding documents and FAQs, the company is requesting that employees provide a personal email address.

The internal communication also reportedly specified that Oracle would terminate access to all corporate systems, including devices, email, and internal files, shortly after the announcement.

While HR departments serve as the primary contact for enquiries, the company has also emphasised the importance of adhering to data protection policies during this transition.
