Popular Nigerian singer Skales has strongly criticized socialite Cubana Chief Priest for using the tragic Palm Sunday attack in Plateau State for political purposes.

On March 29, 2026, several residents were killed in Gari Ya Waye community, Angwan Rukuba, Jos, Plateau State, in what has been described as a violent and deadly incident.

The attack shocked the community and left many families grieving the loss of their loved ones.
Cubana Chief Priest, who is known for supporting President Bola Tinubu, claimed that the attack, which coincided with the President’s birthday, was a deliberate plot by opposition groups to embarrass the government.

His statement drew widespread criticism, as many saw it as politicizing a tragedy that caused real suffering.

Skales reacted angrily to the socialite’s comments, questioning his conscience and sense of humanity. He said, “This guy is delusional. I can’t believe he said that. Lives have been lost, and all you seem to care about is whether the President is embarrassed.

Where is your conscience? You have kids, don’t you?”

The singer’s comments reflect a broader frustration among Nigerians over the recurring violence in parts of the country and the perceived lack of government protection for citizens.

Other celebrities, including comedian Mr Macaroni, singer Ice Prince, and musician Peter Okoye, have also publicly condemned the government for its inability to prevent attacks and protect innocent lives.

The Palm Sunday attack has sparked renewed calls for improved security measures in Plateau State and across Nigeria.

Residents and public figures alike are demanding accountability and swift action to prevent future violence and ensure the safety of communities.
