Popular Nigerian social media critic, VeryDarkMan, has fired a warning at human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, vowing to send him to prison if he ever attempts to use his image without consent.
The explosive response comes after Sowore criticised the remand of B-Lord, describing his detention as “not a victory” and warning against what he called the weaponisation of the law.
In a no-holds-barred reply that has since gone viral, VDM doubled down on his stance, making it clear that anyone, including Sowore would face the same consequences.
“If dem born you well, use my picture without my consent… I will lock you up. Put am for billboard, I go send you go prison,” he fired.
The remark marks a sharp escalation in the war of words, with VeryDarkMan framing the issue as a clear-cut case of personal rights and legal consequences, not activism or oppression.
The controversy trails the Federal High Court’s decision to remand B-Lord in Kuje prison for 26 days over allegations bordering on impersonation, identity theft, forgery and breach of privacy linked to VeryDarkMan.
While Sowore had urged restraint and even called on his lawyer, Marshal D F Abubakar, to step away from the case, arguing that justice should not be reduced to punishment, VeryDarkMan’s latest outburst shows he is ready to push the matter to its limits.
