Liverpool striker Alexander Isak has returned to full team training following a long injury layoff, raising hopes that he could be included in the squad for the club’s upcoming high-profile fixtures.
The 26-year-old forward had been sidelined since December after sustaining a fractured fibula and ankle injury.
According to football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Isak has resumed training with the Liverpool squad and is “expected to be called up this weekend and then against PSG.”
Isak’s return to group sessions under coach Arne Slot marks a key milestone in his recovery. While he may be named in the squad for this weekend’s FA Cup clash against Manchester City, Liverpool is likely to take a cautious approach, with the forward expected to start from the bench.
The Swedish striker is, however, expected to be available for Liverpool’s Champions League tie against PSG, potentially coming on as a substitute as he continues to regain match fitness.
