Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Omah Stanley Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has crowned himself as “the best” Nigerian artiste in the last two decades.
The artist, while speaking on the Nando Leaks podcast, claimed to be the greatest Afrobeats musician of his generation. He added that he sees only Burna Boy as a possible competition in terms of talent.
“I am the best in this sh*t, I don’t wanna be bragging too much, I am the best when you put the whole Afrobeats category. I am not the strongest when it comes to visual maybe it due to my personality, I don’t know. But when it comes to the art of making music, I am the best in the last 20 years,” he stated.
Omah Lay also explained that he does not appreciate being ranked in the same category as other artists, stressing that he believes he is greater than all other Afrobeats artists.
“The only person I sometimes put myself with is Burna Boy. Burna is talented. Apart from Burna, it is me, even with Burna too, it is just me. I feel some type of way when they put me with all these other artists in the same categories. No, don’t do that, I’m the greatest,” he added.
