North West takes the spotlight in surprise duet with Kanye West

Twelve-year-old North West stole the show at her father Kanye “Ye” West’s first Los Angeles concert since 2021, performing alongside him in a surprise duet that thrilled over 70,000 attendees at SoFi Stadium on April 1.

The duo performed their two collaborative tracks, “Talking” and “Piercing On My Hand”, the latter serving as a bold statement from North on her personal style choices, including piercings and her signature blue hair.

In the song, North raps: “I want more piercings and tats, I love blue hair put it in some plaits… Put the music to the max. I want 100,000 racks.”

For the performance, North sported turquoise hair in pigtails, black sneakers, a matching sweatshirt and pants branded with the concert logo, large black sunglasses, and a glittering skull-and-crossbones chain. Kanye West appeared in an all-gray ensemble, marking his first live performance in LA in five years.

North’s parents, Kim Kardashian and Kanye, have consistently supported her self-expression. Kim previously told Call Her Daddy that North confidently embraces her individuality, even if it diverges from others’ opinions. “She’ll be like, ‘Mom, I saw this and I don’t really care if someone says they don’t like my blue hair,’” Kim explained, highlighting her daughter’s strong sense of self.

The young star has also made headlines with her playful and sassy online persona. From recreating iconic Balenciaga looks on TikTok to pranking her mother with a fake eyebrow shaving filter, North has demonstrated a mix of creativity, humor, and confidence well beyond her years.

Despite her unconventional style, Kim emphasized that North follows strict rules in most aspects of her life, noting that self-expression is one of the few areas where she has complete freedom.

The SoFi Stadium performance underscores North West’s emerging presence in entertainment, blending youthful rebellion with artistic ambition, and signaling that she is already carving her own identity in the public eye.
