Osun Police assure residents of adequate security during Easter

The Osun State Police Command has extended Easter greetings to all Christian faithful in the state and assures residents of adequate security during the period.

According to the command, the sacred season symbolizes sacrifice, love, and renewal.

This was disclosed in a press released on Thursday signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi.

“In view of the Easter celebrations, the Command has put in place comprehensive security measures to ensure the safety of lives and property before, during and after the festivities across the State.

“Strategic deployment of personnel has been carried out to churches, recreational centers, major highways, and other public places to prevent any breach of peace and to guarantee a hitch-free celebration.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Gotan, mnips has directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Units to intensify visibility policing, intelligence gathering, and patrol operations throughout the festive period.

“Officers have also been instructed to maintain a high level of professionalism and civility while discharging their duties.

“Members of the public are urged to remain vigilant, cooperate with security agencies, and promptly report any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police station.

“Parents and guardians are advised to monitor their wards and discourage any form of unlawful behavior.

“The Command reiterates its commitment to safeguarding the state and ensuring that residents celebrate Easter in peace and harmony,” the statement read, wishing faithful a peaceful, joyous, and crime-free Easter celebration.
