Seven people are feared dead after suspected bandits attacked churches in Kaduna State on Sunday, in what appears to be another deadly assault on worshippers in the region.

The attack took place in Ariko community, located in Kachia Local Government Area, during Easter celebrations.

According to reports, the gunmen stormed two Christian worship centres while services were ongoing, opening fire on worshippers. At least seven people were killed in the attack, while several others were abducted and taken to an unknown location.

The sudden violence threw the entire community into panic, as residents fled for safety. Many families have been left in fear and uncertainty, especially over the fate of those who were kidnapped during the incident.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers arrived in large numbers and operated for some time before leaving the area without immediate resistance.

The attack has raised fresh concerns about the safety of rural communities and places of worship in Kaduna State.
