Ogun 2027: Sen. Adeola asks supporters to halt campaign

Ogun West Senator Solomon Adeola asked his supporters to refrain from erecting campaign billboards and posters ahead of the official commencement of political activities of the state’s 2027 governorship race.
Adeola who is considered one of the frontrunners for the Ogun gubernatorial ticket of APC in the election made the appeal in a statement on Tuesday in Abeokuta by his Media Adviser, Kayode Odunaro.
According to the statement, the order followed emergence of billboards and circulation of posters in parts of Ogun state by supporters promoting the governorship aspiration of Adeola.
However, the Senator said while such gestures are appreciated and are reflections of support and confidence in his leadership capacity, the lid is yet to be lifted on the campaign for 2027 election.
He therefore cautioned against his supporters against engaging in in premature campaigns.
“I have been informed of the sighting of billboards and posters erected by supporters and groups in parts of the state soliciting support for my aspiration for Ogun 2027.
“As a loyal party member who is fully cognizant of the processes and traditions of our great party, I am yet to declare my intention, as I await the party’s timetable and further consultations,” he said.
Adeola urged his supporters to align with due process and established political guidelines, noting that his political approach had always been rooted in grassroots engagement and respect for laid-down rules.
He, however, assured them that their support and sacrifices would not be taken for granted.
“I appreciate the time and resources expended by my supporters in advancing my cause, and I assure them that their commitment is deeply valued,” he said.
The senator further urged his supporters to remain calm, loyal and law-abiding while awaiting official directives from the party regarding the electoral process.(NAN)
