Quick Read

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially activated the printing of examination slips for candidates registered for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), just one week before the main exam begins.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially activated the printing of examination slips for candidates registered for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), just one week before the main exam begins.

In a statement posted on its official X account (@JAMBHQ) on Thursday, JAMB urged all 2026 UTME candidates to visit its website at https://www.jamb.gov.ng to print their slips immediately.

“The slip contains details of the venue, date and time of your examination and gives you access to the examination hall,” the board said.

The move comes as the 2026 UTME is scheduled to hold from Thursday, April 16 to Saturday, April 25, 2026. Candidates will be assigned specific dates, times, and Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres within this window, making the slip a critical document for entry into the exam hall.

The examination slip is more than a formality. It serves as the official confirmation of a candidate’s personalised exam schedule and venue.

Without it, access to the CBT centre may be denied. Education stakeholders advise candidates to print multiple copies, verify all details carefully (especially centre location and timing), and keep the slip safe alongside other required items such as a valid identification and biometric verification tools.

Candidates can access the slip via the dedicated reprinting portal linked from the JAMB homepage or directly through the e-facility platform.

The process typically requires the candidate’s registration number, email address, or phone number associated with their profile.

This year’s announcement follows the earlier mock UTME, whose slips were released in March, allowing candidates to familiarise themselves with the CBT environment.

Preparation Tips for Candidates

  • Print early: High traffic on the portal in the final days often leads to delays or temporary glitches.
  • Double-check details: Confirm your exam date, time, and centre. Any discrepancies should be reported promptly to JAMB through official channels.
  • Travel logistics: Many candidates, especially those in urban centres like Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt, may need to arrange accommodation or transportation if assigned to distant CBT centres.
  • What to bring: The printed slip, a clean copy of your registration details, and any other items specified by JAMB guidelines. Electronic devices, bags, and writing materials are generally prohibited inside the exam hall.

JAMB has also warned candidates to ignore any rumours of postponement or fake announcements circulating on social media, reaffirming that the exam will proceed as scheduled.

With over a million candidates expected to sit for the UTME annually, the board continues to emphasise the importance of early preparation and adherence to official instructions to ensure a smooth and credible examination process.

Candidates who encounter difficulties printing their slips are encouraged to contact JAMB support or visit an accredited CBT centre for assistance.
