In a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Dr Patrick Ebojele, in Benin and made available to newsmen, on Wednesday, Okpebholo described the death as “a deeply painful loss”.
He stated, “The death of a mother, regardless of age, leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of her loved ones.”
He acknowledged the remarkable life the nonagenarian lived, ”marked by love, sacrifice, and devotion to family”, adding that her legacy would continue to inspire all who knew her.
He prayed that God shall grant his deputy and the entire Idahosa’s family “the strength, courage, and fortitude to bear the great loss”, while also praying for the peaceful repose of her soul.
In a related development, Sen. Neda Imasuen, representing Edo South Senatorial District, also conveyed his condolences to the deputy governor, on behalf of his family and constituents.
Imasuen described the deceased as “a woman of rare grace, strength, and enduring values”, whose life stood as a shining legacy for generations to emulate.
He noted that her impact as a mother, community figure, and moral compass would continue to resonate far beyond her years.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul and urged the bereaved family “to take solace in the remarkable life she lived and the indelible mark she left behind”.
