Kehinde Adegbodu, the surviving member of the gospel duo Adegbodu Twins, has recounted a terrifying armed robbery at his family compound on Monday evening, revealing that the intruders were allegedly searching for him and his late twin brother Taiwo’s valuables.

In a video shared on social media, Adegbodu said he was away in Osun State when the attack occurred. The robbers arrived around 9 p.m., demanding to see him and insisting on searching Taiwo’s room for cash, phones, and other valuables.

He explained that the intruders became frustrated upon discovering he was not home and reportedly called their “boss” to report his absence. Taiwo’s wife alerted him to the incident in a panicked call.

“An issue happened two nights ago. Because I was not at home, I travelled to Osun State. Around past 9 in the evening, I received a call from Taiwo’s wife. I noticed her voice was panicking,” Kehinde said.

“She said four armed robbers brought guns to the house, immediately asking, ‘Where is Kehinde? Where is Taiwo’s room? Where are their golds? Where is Taiwo’s phone? Where is the car key? We are here because of Kehinde.’

“The robbers took all my clothes, valuables, and cash. I thank God that they did not harm anyone. I am speaking out because of protection over my children and Taiwo’s children.”

Kehinde suspects the attack was linked to rumours surrounding donations raised for Taiwo’s burial.

“I think the robbers thought that the money Yinka Ayefele raised for us was still with me. These robbers did not even care that we are mourning. They spent over 45 minutes at our house. By the time I got through to the security, they had already gone,” he added.

He also clarified that the donations were fully accounted for and used to develop a building project where Taiwo would be buried, urging the public to protect their children.

“Please do not come and harm our children. They are innocent. We are not usually at home. I do not have money, and I do not live a fake life. Since the incident, our kids have been living in fear—they are scared to sleep in the house,” he said.

Taiwo Adegbodu passed away in March, and Kehinde revealed that on the night of his brother’s death, Taiwo had complained of a sharp pain in his chest.
