His daughter, Oge Kimono, has issued a formal warning to the public regarding a fraudulent property transaction linked to her late father’s estate.

The family of late reggae icon Ras Kimono has raised the alarm over a fraudulent sale of estate property in Ota, Ogun State.

His daughter, Oge Kimono, has issued a formal warning to the public regarding a fraudulent property transaction linked to her late father’s estate.

According to The Nation, Oge alleged that Kimono’s first wife, Sybil—whom her father legally divorced in 2005—has purportedly sold a plot of land in Ota, Ogun State, belonging to the estate. She clarified that at the time of Ras Kimono’s passing, he was legally married to Ms. Cynthia Dumas, whom he wed in 2007.

“The said individual has no legal authority or mandate to act on behalf of the Estate or to dispose of any of its assets,” Oge said. “Accordingly, the purported sale of the property is unauthorized, invalid, and of no legal effect.”

She expressed concern that several years after the musician’s demise, the same individual has resurfaced to lay claim to and attempt to dispose of estate property. Oge emphasized that the family intends to preserve and develop the estate in honour of Ras Kimono’s memory and legacy.

“Furthermore, the Estate has reason to believe that there may be attempts to sell additional plots of land belonging to the Estate. Members of the public, prospective buyers, and real estate agents are strongly advised to refrain from entering into any transaction with the said individual concerning any property tied to the Estate,” she warned.

Oge added that any person or entity engaging in such dealings does so at their own risk and may face legal consequences, including recovery actions and claims for damages.
