Arsenal suffered a damaging setback in their Premier League title race after falling 2-1 to AFC Bournemouth in a dramatic encounter on Saturday at the Emirates.

Bournemouth took an early lead through Eli Junior Kroupi before Arsenal responded with a Viktor Gyökeres penalty to level the score before half-time.

Despite dominating large spells and creating multiple chances, Arsenal were undone late in the game when Alex Scott fired home in the 74th minute to seal victory for the visitors.

The defeat leaves Arsenal’s title ambitions dented, with missed chances and defensive lapses proving costly in a match they largely controlled, though they are still much on top

Bournemouth, however, delivered a disciplined and clinical performance, capitalising on key moments to secure a crucial away win.

Arsenal pushed relentlessly in the closing stages, forcing a series of corners and testing goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, but were unable to find an equaliser.

A late disallowed goal and several missed opportunities summed up a frustrating outing for Mikel Arteta’s side, who struggled to convert dominance into goals.

The result boosts Bournemouth’s push for points, while raising fresh concerns over Arsenal’s consistency in the decisive phase of the title race.
