President Bola Tinubu has told his economic team to find ways to reduce the effect of the ongoing Middle East crisis on Nigerians, especially as fuel prices continue to rise.

The Nigerian Navy has confirmed that some of its officers have been arrested after a fight with soldiers in Bayelsa State during the visit of Bola Tinubu on Friday.

The incident was caught in a short video that spread widely online. The clip shows uniformed officers arguing before the situation turned violent.

In the video, a Naval Police driver stepped out of his Hilux vehicle to confront another driver, leading to a heated exchange. Shortly after, a soldier carrying a rifle approached and hit the Naval officer, which caused a fight to break out.

The situation quickly got worse, as more personnel from both sides joined in, exchanging blows while people nearby watched.

The clash reportedly happened as the President was leaving the venue of an official event. The exact cause of the fight is still unknown.

Reacting to the incident, Navy spokesperson Captain Abi Folorunso said the officers involved have been taken into custody and are facing disciplinary action.

He explained that they are being handled according to military rules and procedures.
