Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the appointment of Dr. Victoria Egunjobi as the new Executive Secretary of the Health Facilities Monitoring and Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA), in a move to strengthen healthcare regulation and quality assurance in Lagos State.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the appointment of Dr. Victoria Egunjobi as the new Executive Secretary of the Health Facilities Monitoring and Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA), in a move to strengthen healthcare regulation and quality assurance in Lagos State.
The appointment, conveyed in a letter dated April 10, 2026, by the Head of Service, Bode Agoro, takes effect from April 13.
“I am pleased to convey the approval of Mr. Governor of your appointment as Executive Secretary, Health Facilities Monitoring & Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA) with effect from 13th April, 2026,” the letter stated.
Agoro said the government expects the new appointee to demonstrate dedication, diligence and selflessness in the discharge of her duties to justify the confidence reposed in her.
Dr. Egunjobi, a public health physician with over two decades of service, previously served as Director of Disease Control at the Lagos State Ministry of Health, where she coordinated interventions on communicable and non-communicable diseases.
Her experience spans data management, malaria control, maternal and child health, family planning and gender-based violence, with a strong focus on health systems strengthening.
She has also held key roles including Health Management Information System Officer, Knowledge Management Focal Person, Secretary of the Health Research Committee and Reproductive Health Coordinator.
An alumnus of the University of Lagos, Egunjobi holds degrees in Physiology, Medicine and Surgery, and a Master’s in Public Health, alongside a postgraduate certificate in Health Economics from the University of Aberdeen.
She is a member of the West African College of Physicians and an associate member of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria
