Heartbreak for Patrick Doyle as newborn daughter dies hours after birth

Veteran Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle has announced the heartbreaking loss of his newborn baby.

Doyle, whose wife, Funmilayo, welcomed the child on Friday, disclosed the sad development in a social media post.

In his words: “Omayinuwa visited us briefly at about 10:40am on Friday, April 10, and returned to heaven on Saturday, April 11, at about 4:15pm. Her stay was short, but it brought great joy. We would have wished for a longer stay, but heaven thought otherwise. Sibe, Sibe Oluwa n’be’. It is well with our soul.”

The actor had earlier shared news of the baby girl’s birth in a Facebook post on Saturday, expressing gratitude to God.

“To the glory of God, I announce the precious addition of a female child to my quiver.

“OMAYINUWA MAYEN HARRIET DOYLE was born yesterday at about 10:40am. Mother and child are doing well, and daddy is overwhelmed with joy and gratitude to God Almighty,” he wrote.

The announcement had drawn an outpouring of congratulatory messages from fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry before news of the infant’s passing emerged.
