Quick Read
Contrary to earlier reports by a section of the media that Fakorede was removed from his duty post, PM NEWS has been vindicated by accurately reporting that the no-nonsense cop was to assume a bigger responsibility at the FCID.
The newly posted former head of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Monitoring Unit in Abuja, Commissioner of Police (CP) Akin Victor Fakorede has resumed work at his new post as head of the Anti-Fraud Unit of the Police Force Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department (FCID), Headquarters annex, Alagbon Close in Lagos.
Contrary to earlier reports by a section of the media that Fakorede was removed from his duty post, PM NEWS has been vindicated by accurately reporting that the no-nonsense cop was to assume a bigger responsibility at the FCID.
The Police FCID in Alagbon, Lagos, popularly known in security circles as Alagbon Close is not only the brain box of the Nigeria Police Force, but also the engine room where the number one Police officers in the country are baked.
CP Fakorede took over from AIG Simeon Udofia Akpanudom who headed the anti-fraud unit as Commissioner of Police but recently promoted to Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) and moved to be in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Alagbon Close, Lagos.

It will be recollected that the current IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu and the highest-ranking female Police officer in the country, DIG Margaret Ochalla who now heads the FCID Headquarters in Abuja and many others are all products of Alagbon Close.
DIG Margaret Ochalla headed Alagbon Close as AIG before her elevation and deployment to Abuja to suit her new rank.
