Motorists and residents commuting daily through the Third Mainland Bridge, Okesuna and Onikan Bridges have expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his transformative infrastructure projects in Lagos.
Within just three years of assuming office, the President has overseen the installation of solar-powered streetlights, the resurfacing of once dilapidated roads, and the reinstatement of vandalized railings across key bridges—initiatives that have restored both safety and beauty to the metropolis.
Local residents told PM NEWS that these improvements have not only enhanced the city’s aesthetics but also reduced crime along major expressways and adjoining streets. They praised the solar lighting in particular, noting its role in deterring criminal activity after dark.
Therefore, Lagosians are calling for urgent action to safeguard the newly installed railings.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu also received commendation for his ambitious projects, including the ongoing blue and red rail lines, and for working hand-in-hand with the President to illuminate Lagos and restore its long-lost glory. Residents emphasized that his legacy would endure long after his tenure.
Chief Olalekan Disu, a resident of Iyana-Oworo, remarked: “Driving through Okesuna to Onikan, CMS, Apongbon, and Eko Bridge now feels like driving on European expressways.
“President Tinubu has done his best across all six geopolitical zones in just three years. Nigerians should allow him to continue moving the nation forward.”
Similarly, Mr. Solar Adedeji urged the government to station police officers around Okesuna, Onikan, and other bridges, citing the success of security patrols on the Third Mainland and Adeniji Adele bridges in curbing vandalism.
He warned that thieves lurking around Obalende and its environs pose a persistent threat to the newly restored railings.
