The Federal High Court in Abuja has moved its ruling in a case involving the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to April 14, 2026.

The judgment was initially expected on Monday, but Justice Musa Suleiman Liman postponed it by one day due to other official duties.

The case was filed by a House of Representatives member from Kogi State, Hon. Leke Abejide, who is asking the court to stop former Senate President David Mark and former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola from presenting themselves as leaders of the ADC.

Abejide also joined the ADC, Ralph Nwosu, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as defendants in the suit.

In the case, he is asking the court to cancel the alleged handover of the party’s leadership to Mark and Aregbesola, describing it as illegal. He is also seeking an order stopping INEC from recognising them as party leaders.

However, the defendants, including the ADC, David Mark, Rauf Aregbesola, and Ralph Nwosu, asked the court to dismiss the case. They argued that internal party matters should not be decided by the court and that it lacks jurisdiction.

They also said the current ADC leadership was properly elected in July 2025 and that the case has no legal basis.

The court will now deliver its ruling on April 14, 2026.
