City reduced the gap at the top of the table to six points after beating Chelsea 3-0 on Sunday. Goals from Nico O’Reilly, Marc Guehi, and Jérémy Doku secured the win.
This result came after Arsenal lost 2-1 to Bournemouth, giving City a chance to close in on the title race. City also have one extra match to play, and a win in their upcoming game at the Etihad Stadium on April 19 could shift momentum in their favour.
Despite Arsenal’s recent struggles, Guardiola praised them highly. He said Arsenal have been one of the best teams in England and Europe this season and warned that beating them will not be easy.
He also urged City fans to support the team from the start of the match, stressing that Arsenal remain a strong and dangerous side.
City are currently in great form, especially towards the end of the season—a period where they have performed strongly in recent years. The team has lost only one of their last 19 league games and is unbeaten in their last nine matches.
Guardiola said being out of the Champions League has helped the team stay fresh and focused in training.
One standout player for City has been Rayan Cherki. The young midfielder has impressed in his first season, providing 10 assists so far. Guardiola described him as an “extraordinary talent” with great potential for the future.
The upcoming match between City and Arsenal could play a major role in deciding who wins the Premier League title this season.
