Man in Kano police net after married lover dies in his home

A 41-year-old man identified as Lucky Isuma resident in Sabon Gari area of Kano, became unlucky at the weekend, when his married female lover, identified as Sandra, died in his house after requesting for a plate of food.
Lucky is currently detained at the Bompai Police headquarters, Kano, where he is being grilled on what actually led to Sandra’s sudden demise.
Neighbours confided in our correspondent that Sandra, a mother of five children, whose husband is alive, has been a regular visitor to Lucky’s house.
The late Sandra was said to have hailed from Abia state.
Neighbours also confirmed to our correspondent that there was no altercation between the two secret lovers before the woman passed on.
According to a neighbour who knows the illegal lovebirds, ” before her death, she had asked for food. Her male friend had gone to source food when she passed away.”
The ugly incident which occurred on Saturday, left residents of Sabon Gari, an enclave, pre-dominantly dominated by non-natives with fear and shock.
Kano State Police Command Spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the incident.
He also confirmed that Lucky Isuma is currently with the police, aiding investigation.
According to him: “On April 11, 2026, at about 1030hrs, one Chidera Nwobi, male, aged 22, of No. 47 Aitken Road, Sabon Gari, reported at Sabon Gari Police Division that at about 1000hrs of the same date, he found a female adult, approximately 30 years old, lying unconscious and motionless on a bed inside the room of his neighbour, one Lucky Isuma, male, aged 41, of the same address.”
The Police spokesman further stated that detectives were immediately dispatched to the scene of the incident.
Kiyawa further stated that, “the victim was photographed and no visible marks of violence were observed on her body,” adding that she was promptly evacuated to Muhammadu Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital for medical examination, where she was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
Her lifeless body may also undergo autopsy at the hospital.
“The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discreet investigation.
“The Command assures the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death. The outcome of the investigation will be made public in due course,” Kiyawa added.
