DJ Tunez hints at retaliation after clash with Burna Boy

Nigerian disc jockey Michael Babatunde Adeyinka, popularly known as DJ Tunez, has sparked speculation online with a cryptic post on X, interpreted by some as a veiled warning following his physical altercation with Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy at Obi’s House in Lagos last week.
The altercation, captured in a viral video, showed the two entertainers exchanging punches during the popular weekly Afrobeats event. DJ Tunez had earlier defended himself on X, claiming he was cornered by ten men but stood his ground.
“This N*gga Burna Boy, all signs of weakness. First off, you hit me in the back of my head without me looking… 1 vs 10 and I stood my ground. That’s why you collected as well, when I defended myself,” he wrote.
Burna Boy later responded with a mocking video, dancing to DJ Tunez’s song Money Constant and altering the lyrics to fall dramatically, a gesture widely interpreted as a direct jab at the DJ. The incident prompted the Nigerian DJ Association (NDJ) to announce a temporary ban on Burna Boy’s music from DJs’ playlists, which has been debunked by another DJs association.
On Tuesday, DJ Tunez posted on X:
“For every reaction, there is an equal or greater reaction!”
The statement has fueled speculation that Tunez may be preparing a response to Burna Boy’s actions, escalating tensions between the two Afrobeats stars.
