Nigeria’s creative industry witnessed a powerful convergence of talent, insight, and opportunity as CREATORS NEXUS 2026 successfully held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Celebr8 Centre, Ikeja, Lagos with over 5,000 creatives converged, and many more via streaming platforms.

Convened by Moromooluwatiketike Abolaji, the event brought together a dynamic community of content creators, digital entrepreneurs, and creative professionals, all united by a shared vision—to build sustainable, impactful careers beyond fleeting virality.

Themed around longevity and meaningful impact in the digital ecosystem, the gathering reinforced a critical industry shift: from chasing trends to building enduring creative brands.

The event indeed heralds a growing movement positioning Nigeria as the hub for Africa’s growing creative economy.

A convergence of industry powerhouses
The event featured an impressive lineup of keynote speakers and thought leaders, including acclaimed actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele, renowned actor Kemi Lala Akindoju, founder of Bank78 Seyi Ebenezer, and the special assistant to the President on arts, culture, the creative economy, Mr. Ayo Adeagbo and a host of others.

Each speaker delivered thought-provoking sessions centered on storytelling, monetisation, policy, and the future of Africa’s creative economy.

Driving conversations that matter
Throughout the day, attendees engaged in immersive sessions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities designed to equip them with practical tools for growth in an increasingly competitive digital landscape.

Key themes explored included: building sustainable creator businesses, leveraging storytelling for long-term relevance, navigating monetisation and partnerships, and policy and structural support for creatives in Nigeria, in a bid for longevity and structure over virality and short term
gratification.

Convener’s vision
Speaking on the reason for the event, convener Moromooluwatiketike Abolaji spoke about why the platform was created, and the birth process of the landmark event:

“The Creators Nexus began when I wanted to attend a creative event some years back, but it was a paid event. I just wrote it in my journal then that I’ll organize a free event for Creatives where they can learn, win goodies, and pray, and by God’s grace, we had the first edition in March 2024.

“We’ve seen and heard of a lot of people coming into the limelight suddenly only to fade out just as fast, and the goal is to be people whose work can stand the test of time and impact generations. It’s not about “blowing” and becoming the next viral sensation; it’s about being people with creative careers rooted in authenticity, discipline, purpose, and resilience; careers that endure, evolve, and leave a lasting legacy.”

A platform for the future of creativity
Creators Nexus continues to position itself as more than just an event—it is a movement dedicated to reshaping how creators think about influence, impact, and income.

With strong participation and engagement, the 2026 edition reaffirmed the importance of community, collaboration, and capacity-building within Nigeria’s rapidly evolving creative economy.

Looking ahead
Following the success of this year’s edition, plans are already underway to expand Creators Nexus into a broader platform that supports creators year-round through education, partnerships and access to opportunities.
