US rapper Kanye West, also known as Ye, has postponed his planned concert in Marseille, France, following reports that the country’s Interior Minister, Laurent Nunez, was seeking to block the performance over the artist’s recent antisemitic remarks.

“After much thought and consideration, it is my sole decision to postpone my show in Marseille, France until further notice,” West wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

The June 11 concert was part of West’s European tour, but French authorities expressed concern over the rapper’s previous statements, which include public admiration for Adolf Hitler and the release of a song titled Heil Hitler in May 2025. The song, along with a swastika-themed merchandise line, was later banned by major streaming platforms.

West, 48, has faced widespread international criticism, prompting Britain to bar him from entering the country and causing the cancellation of a festival he was scheduled to headline in July. Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the booking as “deeply concerning.”

In response to the postponement, West posted on X:

“I know it takes time to understand the sincerity of my commitment to make amends. I take full responsibility for what’s mine but I don’t want to put my fans in the middle of it.”

Despite bans in some countries, Dutch Asylum and Migration Minister Bart van den Brink stated last week that there were no plans to bar the rapper from performing in the Netherlands.
