‘Why artists alter their age,’ Odumodublvck speaks on age-cheating

Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known by his stage name, Odumodublvck, has opened up on reasons behind age-cheating the the Nigerian music industry.

The rapper, while speaking during a livestream with a Nigerian content creator, Enzo, claimed that many artists are guilty of lying about their age. He explained that they do this to look appealing to record labels and brands who sometimes limit their deals and collaborations to a certain age gap.

Odumodublvck further alleged that Nigeria investors mostly shy away from investing in older artists.

“I am 32 and I don’t bother myself for getting things right at this age. A lot of artists reduce their age because of record labels and partnership deals. You know a lot of investors in the music industry wouldn’t want to invest in older artists,” he explained.
