“I don’t care who else is running. I’m running because I’m a Nigerian candidate. Because I know the Nigerian problem. And I can solve the Nigerian problem,” he said.

Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has declared that he has the experience and capacity to fix Nigeria’s challenges, citing his record in governance and infrastructure.

Amaechi made the statement during an appearance on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Friday, where he described himself as a “Nigerian candidate” focused on solutions rather than ethnic politics.

“I don’t care who else is running. I’m running because I’m a Nigerian candidate. Because I know the Nigerian problem. And I can solve the Nigerian problem,” he said.

The former Rivers State governor pointed to key projects executed during his tenure as Minister of Transportation, including the Abuja–Kaduna and Lagos–Ibadan rail lines, as well as the Lekki Deep Sea Port.

He also claimed success in addressing insecurity while in office, insisting that his experience gives him an edge over other contenders.

Amaechi further defended his time under former President Muhammadu Buhari, arguing that the administration performed better than the current government led by Bola Tinubu.

According to him, his track record demonstrates his readiness to tackle Nigeria’s pressing issues if given the opportunity.
