Bayern Munich have officially retained their crown as the kings of German football, securing a 34th Bundesliga title following a commanding 4-2 victory over VfB Stuttgart at the Allianz Arena.
The win marks a significant milestone for manager Vincent Kompany, who secures his first domestic league title.
Despite the celebratory atmosphere in Munich, the afternoon began with a localized scare for the hosts. Stuttgart, currently embroiled in a tense battle for Champions League qualification, proved they were not merely there to participate in Bayern’s parade.
In the 21st minute, Bilal El Khannouss exploited a gap behind Josip Stanišić to find Chris Führich, who finished clinicaly from a narrow angle to give the visitors a shock lead.
The “Stuttgart upset” lasted less than 15 minutes. After the half-hour mark, Bayern unleashed a ruthless offensive display that effectively settled the title race before the halftime whistle. Jamal Musiala provided the spark, weaving through two challenges to set up Raphaël Guerreiro for an equalizer.
Seconds later, a catastrophic Stuttgart error on the halfway line allowed Luis Díaz to break clear and tee up Nicolas Jackson for a simple tap-in.
The blitz was completed when Alphonso Davies saw a deflected 15-yard effort fly past Alexander Nübel, his first goal of the season, giving Bayern a 3-1 lead within a frantic six-minute window.
In a show of squad depth that has defined their campaign, Kompany introduced Harry Kane and Michael Olise at the start of the second half. It took the England captain just seven minutes to find the net, tucking home his 32nd league goal of the season to extend the lead to 4-1.
While Stuttgart managed a late consolation through a powerful edge-of-the-box strike from Chema Andrés, the result was never in doubt. Jonas Urbig, standing in for Bayern, could do little about the late effort, but by then, the Allianz Arena was already in full celebratory mode.
Treble Dreams and European Ambitions
With the Meisterschale secured, Bayern Munich’s focus shifts immediately to a historic treble. The club remains active in both the DFB-Pokal and the UEFA Champions League, with Kompany’s high-intensity style appearing to peak at the perfect moment in the season.
For Stuttgart, the loss is a setback in their quest for a top-four finish. They retain a narrow two-point lead over Hoffenheim, but four losses in their last seven matches suggest a worrying dip in form at the business end of the season.
