We’re still with you, US reassures Nigeria

The United States Mission has restated the strength of its relationship with Nigeria, pointing to long-standing partnership with Nigeria.

In a statement posted on its X handle on Monday, the Mission stressed that the partnership continues to be driven by strong ties between both nations at multiple levels, not just official government engagements.

“The United States and Nigeria share deep ties in security, trade, health, education, and culture, and these people-to-people connections remain strong and vital to our shared prosperity,” the mission said.

According to the Mission, the relationship is anchored on shared interests that support development and stability, with both countries continuing to work together on regional and global challenges.

It highlighted that collaboration in areas such as counterterrorism, trade facilitation, education exchange schemes and public health initiatives remains central to the partnership.

Beyond government-to-government relations, the Mission noted that connections between citizens, academic institutions and private sector actors continue to deepen, strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation.
