While speaking during a Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee hearing, Cruz asserted that Nigeria records the highest number of Christians killed on account of their faith globally.
He further claimed that Nigerian officials have been facilitating the atrocities done against Christians in various parts of the country.
“Nigerian officials had been, unfortunately, complicit in facilitating these atrocities,” he stated.
Cruz also claimed that the violence in certain parts of the country is as a result of the implementation of Sharia law in some northern states.
