Sessegnon strike seals crucial win for Fulham against Aston Villa

Fulham secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Aston Villa in their English Premier League clash on Saturday, with a first-half strike from Ryan Sessegnon proving decisive in a tightly contested encounter.

The Round 34 fixture, played at Craven Cottage, saw Fulham capitalise on a moment of opportunity in the 43rd minute when Sessegnon reacted quickest to a rebound inside the box, firing into the bottom corner to hand the hosts a crucial lead.

Despite falling behind, Aston Villa dominated possession for large spells of the match, particularly in the second half, as they pushed forward in search of an equaliser. However, their attacking efforts lacked precision, with key chances going begging.

Ollie Watkins squandered a golden opportunity, blazing over from close range, while Tammy Abraham, introduced late in the game, also failed to convert a clear scoring chance.

Fulham, meanwhile, remained resolute at the back, with goalkeeper Bernd Leno producing a series of crucial interventions to deny Villa’s advances.
