Dua Lipa turns down massive offer to perform at Joshua-Fury clash

Quick Read

However, organisers were hoping to add a musical performance to the spectacle, with Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority chairman, Turki Al-Sheikh, suggesting that the fight could be at risk if Dua Lipa did not agree to perform.

Dua Lipa has turned down an invitation to perform at the much-anticipated heavyweight bout between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, which is set for later this year.

The British boxing stars, aged 36 (Joshua) and 37 (Fury), have agreed to terms for their long-awaited clash, which is slated for the end of 2026.

However, organisers were hoping to add a musical performance to the spectacle, with Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority chairman, Turki Al-Sheikh, suggesting that the fight could be at risk if Dua Lipa did not agree to perform.

Although it’s unclear whether Al-Sheikh’s comment was made seriously or in jest, sources confirm that the 30-year-old pop sensation was approached for the event but declined the offer. She will not be performing at the event.

Dua Lipa, known for global hits like New Rules, Don’t Start Now, and Levitating, is one of the biggest names in pop music, and her absence from the event has left fans disappointed.

The venue for the fight has not been confirmed, but Wembley Stadium in London is thought to be the preferred option for organisers.
